Also, manual CX-3, nice! Canada Land special

If you're going asymetrical, yoi've got to fully embrace it. Not just with an odd vent

Miata is same.
I think it’s good. Steering wheel is the “
center”
of the interior, not middle of
the center console.

I don’t mind it. It’s fully embraced in the design of the dash. It’s not like there’s an indent of where the matching circle vent should be, or that the circle vent was just shoved into where a straight vent should be.

I like it, helps blend in with the dash lines. Also, I would like a manual cx-3 please, since Mazda refuses to sell us the 2.

Is the far-right vent circular as well? No t sure why they would do that, as the Tom-Tom-screen could still easily integrate with another round vent.
In the c ase below, it looks like they weren’t sure how to place the screen, so they just said fuck-it and put in the slot vent.

They may look dumb, but work so much better than square ones. I can point my circular vent to the left of my steering wheel anywhere with just a flick. The square ones in the center console of my car don’t have that freedom of motion.

Not bad looking overall , but why didn’t they just center the screen and put in another symmetrical round vent? It looks odd to me, even more so than the usual tacked-on iPad mini in most cars these days.

I actually really like that idea!
In every car I’ve ever owned, the right vent always seems to be incapable of or poses an actual challenge to point directly at my hands. This would make that a possibility.
Other events come close, but I assume this could be pointed directly at my right hand.
I have low blood pressure and my hands get cold very easily when I’m operating something or playing an instrument.
I like the execution of the cx3 interior - though I think the screen looks like a cheap afterthought.

Circle vent: hand warmer or chiller. Horizontal vent: ambient A/C.

This is 1p0% my thought. I'll take round vents over rectangular vents that have poor direction any day.

It mattered on 90% of the rest of the dials, knobs, and vents. It looks to me that they chose symmetrical vents centered around the wheel. Alternatively they could have put two slot vents in the middle, centering the entire dash.
IMO it looks haphazard with the hazard switch to the left, slat vent to the right, screen not centered, yet the three climate control knobs are . Then again I’m not a designer, just a commenter!

Possibly, but plenty of other options to move things around. If visibility was primary concern, the screen would be tilted towards the driver. Or able to pivot based on driver height.

The part that sucks is that I did my part and bought a 2014 mazda2 manual brand new, and all I want is another and Mazda won't take my money. I hate the Toyota grill but if you could get the Yaris hatch with a stick I'd consider it. I do like the cx3 though, except the arm rest is pitiful and way too cheap for how nice the rest of the interior is.

I really do like their interiors, but having 3 round outlets and 1 flat outlet looks a bit weird.
They could have done it as in the RX-8, 2 round, 2 flat
, but in a more modern way, obviously

I’m not a fan of t
hose tablet-style screens, or screens in general, but leaving the screen there, They could have used 2 flat vents and center the hazard light button

That’s what I would have done, centering the hazard light button with the screen, and use 2

our large dog in the boot, and some bagage

It’s similar to the MX-5, but it makes more sense there, since there’s less space

Its so frustrating here, I don't feel like companies get the demographic at all. Are sales of manual cars way down? Absolutely. But I think to carmakers, people only buy manuals to save $1000 on the automatic, and I don't think that's true any more. Like the new Rio, by all accounts a decent cheap commuter, my wife has a 2013 she bought new, I would totally buy a Rio with the manual EXCEPT you can only get a manual with crank windows and manual locks. I am in the market for a new daily but I'd like some upgrade from my fucking '93 escort. Maybe the problem isn't totally that nobody wants a manual but that nobody wants fucking crank windows in 2020 (although it still comes with Sirius thankfully so that you can be bombarded with calls and flyers for years after you buy the car). I'm sure it's a small demographic but there's people like me who can't afford a hot hatch/sports car but would like a small modestly equipped manual runabout and the Honda fit is pretty much the only choice left.
